The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Indonesian Dewa United (3-1) against Malaysian Johor Tigers on Thursday night. Dewa United were edged by Malaysian Johor Tigers (1-3) 90-87. It was a good game for American guard Scottie Lewis (196-2000, college: Florida) who led his team to a victory with 30 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import Ahmed Hill (196-1995, college: Virginia Tech) contributed with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American point guard DJ Cooper (183-1990, college: Ohio) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 7 rebounds and 13 assists for Dewa United. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
Important game to mention about was the one when Thailand Hitech (2-2) saved a 2-point victory edging Malaysian Johor Tigers (1-3) 91-89 in the game for the second place. It was a great evening for American-Thailand point guard Frederick Lish (175-1988, college: USA) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 5 rebounds. Chanatip Jakrawan helped adding 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Iranian-British center Aaron Geramipoor (213-1992, college: Seton Hall) with 23 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game.
An interesting game for Pilots (3-0) which played against Kings (0-2). Pilots had an easy win 110-85. It was an exceptional evening for Setric Millner Jr who led the winners and scored 31 points and 5 rebounds. Jalen Harris came up with 28 points and 5 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for Kings in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pilots will again meet Kings (#4) in the next round. Kings will play against Xac Broncos and hope to get finally their first victory.
In the last two games of round 3 Hitech was beaten by Dewa United 99-94. Pilots destroyed South China 99-80.
The most impressive performance of 3rd round was 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists by Chun-Hong Ting of Johor Tigers.
